Switchboard Upgrades

Older homes tend to be using the older style fuse-wire switchboards. These fuses use fuse-wire to protect your wiring and thereby minimise the risk of electrical fires. When a circuit becomes overloaded the fuse wire melts and stops the flow of electricity to the circuit. In newer homes, this same protection is achieved using modern circuit breakers (RCDs).

While fuse wire may be effective if installed correctly, it is not always the case.
Fuse wire is an outdated method that needs to be replaced by the new breed of circuit breakers.
